zalcitabine
= ddC; n.
a drug, similar to didanosine, that is used to prolong the lives of patients with AIDS and HIV infection. It is administered by mouth, in combination with other antiretroviral drugs. Possible side-effects include peripheral neuropathy, ulceration of the gullet, skin rashes, severe pancreatitis, nausea, vomiting, and headache.
